About Palm & Providence
Abundant Living Through Christ
Who we are
We are Darrell and Angela, a husband and wife who call Northwest Florida’s Emerald Coast home. Palm & Providence is our small, Christ-centered corner of the internet, where we share thoughtful finds for the home, the garden, the kitchen and the table.
Our story
We met at Gulf Coast College in the fall of 1985 and were married by the spring of 1986. We began our family with the first of our three daughters in the fall of 1987. Our daughters are now grown, married and have families of their own, and we treasure our time with our children and grandchildren. After 40 years of marriage, we continue to date one another and to grow together as a couple and in our walk with Christ.
Why “Palm & Providence”
Palm comes from Psalm 92:12: “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.” It also reminds us of the palm branches of Jerusalem, and of the palms found right here along the Emerald Coast where we make our home. Providence is God’s sovereign care, guidance, protection and provision, which we have leaned on in every season.
What we do
We recommend things we believe are well made and truly useful. Some we use in our own home, and we say so. Others we have researched carefully, and we say that too. You will find ideas for:
- Home & Garden
- Living Well at Home
- Kitchen & Everyday Essentials
- Salt & Light, our Thoughtful Pantry
- Thoughtful Gifts
- Lifestyle & Experiences
How we choose
Christ is at the center of every decision we make here. We look for quality, safety, family-friendly companies and values we are comfortable supporting, and we look at commission last. If a product has no affiliate program at all but we use and trust it, we will still share it. We never claim to have used something we have not.
Our promise
- Honesty and transparency in everything we write.
- Recommendations based on quality and usefulness, not the highest commission.
- No gimmicks, no pressure and no promises of results.
- Original words and our own photos.
